How to use Article Marketing

No comments November 4th, 2009

Article Marketing is a simple, effective low-cost way to bring very high quality visitors to your website. You can establish yourself as an authority in the industry, and build trust with your audience through articles. You don’t have to be an expert writer to have an effective article campaign.

Once you write an article, there are many places to distribute your content online, so that you have the largest audience possible, reading your articles. You can optimize your articles for specific keywords so that they appear in the search engines results when prospects search for your keyword.

Task (1st Day):

  • Day 1: Choose one keyword, and quickly write one article
  • Day 2: Proofread your article, then distribute it using the links below.

Action Outline

I. Define Your Target Audience
II. Select a Keyword
III. Choose Your Topic
IV. Write Your Article
V. Write The Title
VI. Distribute Your Article

Step-By-Step

I. Define Your Target Audience

Defining your target audience a fundamental step in writing effective articles. “People who want to make money” is a very broad audience, that needs to be further defined, to be effective. There are many different types of people looking to make money, all for different reasons. The more closely you can define your target market, the more this audience will relate and respond to, your articles.

There are a couple of ways to choose your target audience. You can either choose to target people just like you, or may want to branch out and target a different audience. Either way, use the following list of questions to define your audience:

1. What do they do for a living?
2. What struggles do they face?
3. What is important to them?
4. What are their values?
5. What is their current income?
6. What are their income goals?
7. What types of activities do they enjoy?
8. What is their definition of success?
9. Do they use any industry specific “lingo” or terminology?

II. Select Your Keyword

Since your articles can show up in the search engines for specific keywords, you’ll want to “optimize” each article for a long-tailed keyword.

Choose one long-tailed keyword for your article.

Short-Tailed Keywords vs. Long-Tailed Keywords

“BMW” (short-tailed)
“Black 7 series BMW” (long tailed)

“Luxury Home” (short-tailed)
“Luxury 5 bedroom Home in Aspen Colorado” (long-tailed)

“Online Business” (short-tailed)
“Best online home based business opportunity” (long-tailed)

III. Choose Your Topic

Once you have a long-tailed keyword, choose a topic specifically related to that keyword.

For example, if your long-tailed keyword is “Best online home based business opportunity,” than your topic could be “How to Find the Best Online Home Based Business Opportunity” or “How to Know If You’re In The Best Online Home Based Business Opportunity.”

Here are 5 ideas for article topics:

  1. A how-to article
  2. A review article
  3. A problem, then solution article (define a problem, provide the solution)
  4. A personal experience article
  5. A comparison article (compare your former profession to your new opportunity)

Here is another fantastic way to come up with article topics:

  1. Write down the top 5 concerns you had, about starting a new business before you joined your opportunity
  2. Write out the solutions that your opportunity provides, to these concerns.
  3. You now have 5 article topics!

Here’s why this works so well: The people who are reading your articles probably have the exact same concerns that you did, before you joined. By addressing these concerns in your article, prospects will feel that your article was written just for them and they will feel drawn to you.

Whenever possible, you want your article to have an emotional aspect to it. This can be frustration (i.e. “Are you frustrated with MLM’s that pay tiny commissions and take years to build?” Think about the problems that your audience faces and what emotions are tied to those problems.

IV. Write Your Article

Writing articles is easier than you think! Your goal is to complete this step in 20 minutes or less. Do not worry about making your article perfect. The most important thing you can do, is just sit down and start writing. Here’s how to do it quickly:

  1. Make a list of 3 main points you want to get across in your article (one sentence each).
  2. Write down 3-5 sentences that backup each of your three points.
  3. Your three main points will be the first sentence of three paragraphs.
  4. The 5 sentences you wrote will make up the body of each paragraph.

You now have 3 paragraphs, and just need an introduction paragraph.

  1. Write 3-4 sentences that sum up your three main paragraphs.
This will be your introduction paragraph.

Now you just need to finish it up!

  1. Write a 2-3 sentences that sum up your three main points, and gives people the final solution.

*If you are writing a problem/solution driven article, you want to reiterate your audience’s problem. This is effective, because your audience thinks, “This person really knows what I’m thinking and what problems I have! I want to listen to what they have to say, and take a look at the solution they are offering!”

V. Write the Title

Once you have your article ready, you want to create a compelling title by following these key points:

  • Whenever possible, include your entire keyword in the title.
  • Move your keyword as close to the beginning of the title as possible.
  • If you are doing a review or comparison article, don’t reveal “the end of the story” or your final opinion in the title. People will be less inclined to click on your article and read the rest.
  • Questions make great article titles. The human brain has a specific chemical reaction when a question is unanswered, it does NOT like it! People will be drawn to do whatever it takes, to get their question answered, which can include reading your article and seeing what you have to say, and clicking through to your website.

VI. Distribute Your Article

Distribute Your Article To The Following Sites:

Important Notes

  • Your article should be assisting the reader. Your article is not the place for a sales pitch, this will turn people off.
  • If you are writing a “how-to” article, never be afraid of giving away your “best stuff.” The better content you give your audience for free, the more inclined they will be to listen to you, and ultimately, spend money with you.

How to make money with Twitter

No comments October 30th, 2009

Twitter is a social community where people can say what they are busy doing at any time of the day. Only 140 characters are allowed, more or less the same as text messages. You can choose to follow people, you will get an update when they update their profile. They can choose to follow you back. That way you can keep updated as to what your friends are doing throughout the day.  Some are using Twitter for fun and some are using it for business. The big question is…..how do you make money with Twitter?

There are a few ways that people have figured out on how to make money with Twitter. Businesses use it to promote their own products and some guys are using it to promote the products of others.  The latter is the way that most individuals do it from home, earning six figure plus incomes, sometimes in a period of months.

It can be difficult to think of ways on how to make money with Twitter. There is a company out there that provides ways on how to make money with Twitter as well as Facebook, Youtube, Myspace and a few other social media websites. This means that you don’t have to figure it out on your own. You can plug into this system and start using these social media websites to make money from day one from the comfort of your own sofa.

In short, this system provides you with the all the products, the websites and the marketing methods. All you have to do is to drive drive traffic to your pre-built websites. It is a complete turn-key solution or as they call it “Business in a Box”

Definitely worth checking out on how to make money with Twitter and other social media here.

How to make money blogging

2 comments October 28th, 2009

How to make money blogging sounds difficult but it is in fact one of the easiest things to do. If you know how to setup a blog, then you are 90% there. If you don’t know, but are willing to spend 60 minutes learning how, then you are 80% there! What is a blog and how to make money blogging ?

A blog is similar to a website. The biggest difference is that content is updated daily or weekly. It is usually a place where you can share what is going on in your life. You can also include pictures and videos and can also link it to tons of other media. So, who would like to know what you are doing or what you have done? People with the same interests across the globe would be a good prospect….

So how do you make money with blogging? This question does have a very easy answer IF you already have something that you would like to promote on the Internet. If you don’t have something to promote in mind yet, don’t worry, I can recommend something in high demand to you later in this article. If you do have something that you can promote then it is a matter of writing something relevant in your blog every now and again. Please note the following : don’t enter a “sales blog entry” each day. People will pick up quickly that you are only trying to sell them something. People don’t like to be sold!

Rather do a “sales blog entry” every other day. Keep your blog personal and mix it with a bit of business every now and again and remember to insert your website link somewhere in the blog so that prospects can click trough to your website! Another nice thing that you can do on how to make money with blogging is to link your blogs with social networks such as Facebook, Youtube and Myspace to name a few. You can set it to update automatically to these sites using the RSS feed function.

If this all sound complicated don’t fear. It was the same for me until I stumbled upon a system on the Internet that provides training on this marketing method as well as 30 or so more methods on how promote products and services on the Internet. This proven system designed by Jay Kubassek can also supply you with pre-built websites as well as products making this a turn-key solution or as they call it a “business-in-a-box (BiB)”. You only need to acquire this BiB and you are ready to make your 6 to 7 figure income by following the system which includes a module on how to make money with blogging as well as other methods to increase your income.

You can get your BiB here.

Where do I start if I want to make money on the internet ?

1 comment October 25th, 2009

There are various ways that you can make money on the internet and it is sometimes difficult to figure out where to start.

Making money on the internet is ultimately about sales. You can only make money on the internet if you sell something whether directly or indirectly.
This something could be a product or a service, and it could be your own or belong to someone else.

In order to sell this “something” on the internet you would need to do marketing so that people can find the products or services that you are selling.

The quickest way to teach yourself how to do internet marketing is to find a company that offers online internet marketing education.

You can go to Google and type internet marketing education or something similar to explore the various internet marketing education opportunities available.

Find a system that you can plug into that will provide you with all the education, tools and support required to do effective internet marketing.

You can easily master the art of internet marketing within 30 – 90 days depending on your previous experience, time that you have available to teach yourself and the quality of the internet education system that you use.

The next step would be to source products and services to sell if you do not have your own. The good news is that there are literally millions of products on the internet that you can sell using your internet marketing skills. Tip: Initially you should look for products that don’t require shipping or any other complicated logistics.

There are internet marketing education companies on the internet that even provide you with products that you can market. I would highly recommend that you start your journey with such a company. It will save you loads of time and it will be an excellent starting point for exploring ways to make money on the internet.

How long does it take to make money on the internet?

No comments October 24th, 2009

That is arguably the most asked question to me as a professional internet marketer. The answer is easy.

The same amount of time that it takes to build any other business. Some people might get lucky and make it faster, but you should prepare yourself for at least 3 to 6 months or even a year.

Some internet based companies claim that you can get rich in a few weeks. That is not true. Do not ever fall for that. If they claim that, simply close your browser window and search for the next option.

The thing with an internet business is that you need to do some sort of marketing in order to obtain leads that will convert into sales. As with any other business, you first need to brand yourself, build a relationship with your customers and get leads before you can expect your first sale.

This process does take time, hard work and dedication. The good news is that all of these leads and relationships grows over time.

The longer you can stick it out, the more successful you would be on the internet. Most people make the mistake of giving up on their internet business just before ‘profit time’.

The best thing to do is to ‘forget’ about how much profit your money your business is making in the first six months. I’m not saying that you should be reckless. I’ m suggesting that you rather put all your effort into your business doing marketing instead of using that energy to monitor your profit performance all the time. You will get demotivated and you will quit if you focus on the wrong things and if you are only in it for quick money.

Allow yourself and your business at least twelve months and you might be surprised with what you have built up at the end!

How much does it cost to start an internet business ?

2 comments October 24th, 2009

Before we even start with this topic I would like to state that there is practically NO business out there that is worth doing if it is free….unless you are in the business of running charities.. :-)

It has never been easier to setup an internet business from the comfort of your own home. The internet has literally opened up thousands of legitimate business opportunities.

One of the biggest misconceptions that people have is that the internet is free. There is no such thing as a free business, if someone claims that, be very careful.

The positive side is that starting an internet business can be done with very little start-up costs compared to a brick and mortar business.

First off, you would need the obvious such as a pc or laptop and access to the internet. If you don’t have this then  COUNT it towards your start-up capital before you make an informed decision about starting an internet business.

Secondly, you would need to purchase some system that you can follow to profit with your internet business – or set it up yourself (a bit harder and time-consuming to do in the beginning). I use a system that was created by others for ease of use for newbies and those who don’t have the time or knowledge to set up their own system.

Thirdly, you would need to set aside monthly fees for hosting and advertising. The system that I’m using costs around $149 per month and I also set aside about $300 per month for advertising but there are methods you can use for free advertising/marketing – see under the Resources category.

The nice thing about the internet is that you can market your products in a lot of free ways such as articles, videos, forums and social media to name a few.

So lets count it all up assuming that you already have a laptop and access to the internet and that you are making use of free advertising methods.

Once-off cost for the system = $ 349
Monthly fees for hosting = $149

This is an example of one of the thousands of systems available out there. These fees include everything you need to start your own internet business within a few days. These fees also includes training, websites and products. There are higher investment opportunities available within the system but these are the basic  fees required to start your internet business with this system.

This is why only a few people make money on the Internet

No comments October 24th, 2009

Have you ever wondered why only a few guys are really making money on the Internet compared to the millions of people that are signing up every day to some sort of home Internet business ?

What are these guys doing to make a success of it ? That is an important question and the exact opposite of what the majority are doing that causes them to fail within the first 30 days of any Internet business.

The majority of people tend to make the same mistakes. Avoid them and you could be one of the few to actually make money on the internet.

Mistake 1 : Laziness

Some people think that they can simply plug into a system and that the system will do the rest. The truth is your work only starts after you have purchased the system. There is no system out there that you can simply purchase and sit back and think you are going to make money on the internet. If anyone claims that, stay far away!

Mistake 2 : Taking too much time to plan

Although planning is very important, it is crucial to also DO. You can not buy a system and plan the whole time. That will not generate any leads. You actually have to DO some marketing in order to generate business. Make sure to plan properly BUT also to do what you have planned. You will not make money on the internet JUST by planning all of the time.

Mistake 3 : Misconception of what an Internet business is

Any Internet business is the same as a brick and mortar business. It takes time and money to start and grow. People tend to think that it is a quick and cheap route to start a business. It is not and if you don’t allow at least 12 months of consistent hard work , don’t even try to get involved in any internet business.

Mistake 4 : Information Overload

There are a lot of very valuable marketing strategies that you will learn from the various available Internet systems. The problem is that people get an “information overload”. What do they do next ? Cancel the membership and jump to the new best thing……Why ? Because most people are too lazy to learn new stuff PLUS it is much easier to give up than to work out a daily schedule. These guys try to learn everything in one day, which is impossible. You need to draft a daily schedule and learn the skills bit by bit, day by day in order to be successful.

Mistake 5 : Lack of Perseverance

Arguably the biggest mistake is that people give up just before the breakthrough! Keep working your business for at least 12 months before you even start to think of giving up. The grass always looks greener on the other side..

If you are aware of these common mistakes and think that you can overcome them, feel free to see how we do it. Click here for more info.

Disadvantages of running your own Internet Marketing Business

No comments October 24th, 2009

Most people won’t explore the opportunity to own an Internet business. The main reasons given are: “It’s too technical” and “I don’t have any online business experience”.

The good news is that this doesn’t have to be the case anymore.

There are various online business opportunities available that do not require a vast amount of technical skills and previous online business experience. These systems are packed with all the information and “how-to” that you would need to start your own Internet business in a few days regardless of your previous background.

As with any business though, an Internet business has its disadvantages and advantages.

Disadvantages:

> It requires a few hours a day on the Internet. Especially when setting up your business. You can scale down to 2 – 4 hours per day once your business is up and running.
> It requires hard work. Doing business on the Internet is definitely not a “get rich quick” solution and stay away from any opportunity that claims this.
> There is start-up capital required but keep in mind that any business would require some sort of start-up capital. You cannot usually start a business for free.
> A great amount of  Internet bandwidth is required to do your research and marketing. This could be costly if you are outside the USA or UK. Although prices of broadband access is becoming more and more affordable by the day.

Advantages:

> You can work from literally anywhere in the world in your own time.
> The chances of making profit in a short period of time are much higher than a brick and mortar business because of your low overheads.
> The only business tools required are a laptop/PC and Internet access.
> You don’t have to think of ways how to make money on the Internet anymore. There are various systems available that you can plug into and immediately start with your online business. They normally supply the training, websites and products. All you have to do is to stick to their suggested business plan.
> Start up costs can be quite minimal when compared to ‘brick and mortar’ business start up and maintenance costs.

These are some of the advantages and disadvantages of running your own Internet business but if you are confident of overcoming the disadvantages and ae interested in checking out the system I use then click here.

How to Pick A Form Of Advertising

No comments October 23rd, 2009

The best way to start is to pick a form of advertising that you feel that you want to start with and get after it.

Pick a method that interests you from the resources category and do it. Don’t try to do it all at once. Start with one method and get good at it. Once you are seeing results then start adding other types of advertising on top of it one at a time.

Some of the best types of advertising to start with are…

• Articles and press releases

• Banners (if you have a website or blog, be sure to post the banners on your site)

• Ezines

• Pay per click advertising

Pick one that you feel you would be interested in and start placing ads. Stick with one method until you are getting results, then and only then start adding more types of advertising to your arsenal.

For more assistance on this be sure to check out the “Resources” category to the right of this page.

I have example ads, resources, and video tutorials (coming soon) located under “Resources” category for easy implementation. Please note that these are samples only. You can use them but try to add your take on it. Remember – you are the essential ingredient to your business. Edit the ads to suit your message.

The main thing is to be consistent and place ads daily. Within a matter of days you should start seeing some leads start coming in and you are off to the races.

So be sure to check out the Resources category for more helpful information.

There you have it, a couple of simple steps to get you off to a fast start. Marketing on the internet can be great, but it can be frustrating.  I will do my best to help you as much as I can, but the main thing you need to do is stay consistent, if something doesn’t work don’t worry about it, just keep your head up and push forward.

3 Things you can do to build your home-based business faster

No comments October 23rd, 2009

There are a few simple things that you can do to build your home-based business faster, I would like to concentrate on the 3 most important things.

1. Find a system that is already in place, don’t waste your time to try and think of something new.
2. Do your due diligence properly. This will save you money and time.
3. Study successful people in your industry. Learn from them. Copy what they are doing and improvise.

Often the biggest mistake that new home-based business owners make is that they try to think of new business ideas.
The thing is, chances are very good that someone has already thought of your idea. The best thing to do is to explore business opportunities that are already out there and are making millions for people already. The first thing you need to do is to plug into such a system. Don’t reinvent the wheel. You will most probably only waste your time and money.

The second biggest mistake that new home-based business owners make is that they jump into a business opportunity with eyes closed. It is important to do your due diligence. Rather spend more time to do your home work. This will save you time and money later. It will give you the confidence in the knowing that you are busy with the perfect business that is deserving of your time.

The fastest and easiest way to get your home-based business going and growing is by finding others who have already done what you want to do and learn from them. As fast and as much as you can, then improvise. By just doing these 3 things, you can build your business much faster.

One such system can be found here.
